Tuesday, April 26th

  8:30 AM- yogurt
12:15 PM - broccoli & hummus

 Throughout the day sipping on a Strawberry Banana SOBE that was watered down a bit.  (NOT on my diet, but a gift.)

Monday, April 25th

180 lbs at 8 AM

8AM- All Bran cereal
9AM- yogurt
1PM- Salad (grilled chicken, cheddar chz, lettuce, vinegar & oil dressing)  & one slice of Laughing Cow creamy Swiss cheese
3PM- popsicle
9PM- one  6 oz. yogurt, 3 hard boiled eggs, two Gogurts (frozen yogurt)
(No exercise today)

Good Friday- Easter Sunday

I was fairly good with my diet on Friday until I saw chocolate bread was still left at 5PM.   I ate 2 pieces with butter.  

Saturday I visited a friend and spent the night, so we pigged out!  ;)    She left candy and hid plastic eggs around for my friend and I to find.   It was hilarious to think of how much fun two grown women were having when finding those eggs.   My conclusion was that it must've been the chocolate!!!

  Sunday, we had a big Easter meal and then I kept snacking for about 2 hours on little chocolates.  Then I went home and was invited to another friend's house for dinner and dessert.    

I GAINED 8 POUNDS OVER THE WEEKEND!!!      :)       Talk about enjoying my friends and FOOD!

Wednesday, April 20th

Long, important phone call from a friend last night.    Then couldn't sleep.  Woke up in the morning completely exhausted.  My head felt really heavy and one of those headaches was coming on, so rather than fight it all day, I called in sick to work.     I slept until 2PM and then would wake up and lay in bed thinking and fall asleep again, off and on, until 5:30 PM.   Then I got up and had a couple glasses of MILK and went to Bible study, came back, watched a movie and had more  milk, and went to bed by midnight.

11:50 AM- an apple
12:20 PM - salad with cucumbers, grilled chicken, feta cheese, and oil & vingar dressing
12:45 PM - 2 Fudgesicles
 2:30 PM - large jello 
 5:00 PM - Walked 2.8 miles with a friend.
 6:30 PM - Creamsicle
 6:45 PM - Salad (like earlier)
 7:30 PM - creamsicle
 9:00 PM - bowl of bran cereal
11:30 PM - fudgesicle

Sunday, April 17th

*Foggy (no church)
Lunch - half of a 3-egg omelette (cheddar chz, cilantro, 2 slices of turkey lunch meat) & glass of milk
*Naps off and on in the afternoon
Dinner- a bowl of Fiber One cereal & glass of milk
1 AM - fudgesicle

**Pressure in my head in the evening!   Urgh.  From around 9-10...pain, tired, just didn't want to move.   Then when I was preparing my salads, the pressure was intense and I felt a bit dizzy. 

*No Sudafed today....taking a break from it.
*Nasal steroids at night.


Saturday, April 16th

Breakfast - 2 (6oz.) yogurts
Lunch (around 1PM) - broke my diet - 2 chicken cordeon bleus
Afternoon snack - popsicle??
11PM - cottage cheese
*Worked at home in the morning.
*Picked up kids from airport.
*Stayed up too late chatting.

**Sudafed this morning.
**Nasal steroids in the morning, but forgot them at night.

Friday, April 15th

PAY DAY!  :)

 8:00 AM - one 6oz. yogurt (Fat free, of course.  Strawberry banana flavored)

I took my Sudafed and nasal steroids, but when I tried to do the nasal rinse, it was HORRIBLY PAINFUL!!!!!    It surprised me because I've done it several times and it's never hurt.   When I FIRST did it, I felt the pressure of it trying to go through all the congestion, but it wasn't painful, just a bit uncomfortable.    I waited until the pain subsided and then tried the opposite nostril and went slowly.   There's no pain in the nostril area, but UP between and under my eyes.   Yes, again....I yelled!!!!  AHHHH!!!!  PAIN.      I stopped.   It should NOT hurt like that.      The only reason I can even begin to come up with is that I did yesterday's rinse late at night and was attempting to do today's in the morning and perhaps it was just too soon.    I don't know, but I won't try again until tomorrow morning.      (ENT.......Save me!     Ha!)
                      (Started to feel drainage around 11:30 or so...)
11:45 AM- Salad with cucumbers, feta cheese, 2 slices of turkey lunch meat, and oil & vinegar dressing              (Started to feel a bit of pressure in my head and tired around 12:30 PM.)
 1:05 PM - Creamsicle   (Trying to swallow drainage...need to drink more water.)

*I feel crazy pressure under my eyes.   When I move my eyes to the corners (esp looking to the right) I feel the strain.   If I bow my head, the pressure builds QUICKLY.    I can't move my head up or down for fear of feeling dizzy.   Grrr.....  And, yes, I still feel drainage.      I just want to sleep.

Thursday, April 14th

Woke at 6AM, stayed in bed thinking and praying, got up at 6:30 and read a devotion, took a shower around 7, then got ready and worked on bills.    (I still have lettuce in the fridge that I've been attempting to wash and cut up since Sunday!  Again, I ran out of time this morning!) 

7:30 AM - one yogurt
8:00 AM - another yogurt
9:00 AM - yet another yogurt  (I am so hungry.)

Forgot to take meds this morning!!!!   Took 12-hr Sudafed at 10 AM.   (Missed nasal steroids.  Will do the rinse tonight.)

10:45 AM - 2 small strips of grilled chicken and then broccoli with hummus
 1:00 PM - 2 Creamsicles
      *Started feeling tired and dizzy.   Lasted about an hour.
 2:30 PM - 1 popsicle
 4:00 PM - 1 popsicle
 7:00 PM - a few spoonfuls of hummus...not really hungry, but it tasted good

Sometime between 6 & 8, I got REALLY tired, really fast, and was going to go home, but decided to just lay on the floor and rest.


11PM -Did nasal rinse, nasal steriods, and took Sudafed.  Then I ate one 6 oz. yougurt, then read a book for awhile, and went to sleep.

Wednesday, April 13th

 8:00 AM -  Took 12-hour Sudafed and nasal steroids.   Did a saline nasal rinse.
 9:00 AM - One fried egg, one (6 oz.) strawberry yogurt, and one slice of Friendship bread (BAD.  REALLY BAD!!  That was bread that was loaded with sugar!!)
 1:00 PM - a few bites of cottage cheese, a few pieces of grilled chicken dipped in hummus, and 2 fudgesicles   (I didn't feel really hungry.)
 2:15 PM -  fudgesicle (sugar free)

By 2:30, I felt completely EXHAUSTED!!!!!  I was thinking about going home, but then realized it was because of my sinus issues because I felt a bit dizzy and felt pressure in my head behind my eyes.   I knew I needed to look up doctors' names and find out if they were covered by my insurance.    Around 4:30 I began to feel drainage down the back of my throat (well behind my nose, not yet to my throat) on the left side.   I called Mom and she said maybe the Sudafed is working to unplug my sinuses and that's a good thing.   I will still pursue an ENT since I've been dealing with this since October and I always get better temporarily, but when I stop the meds, the bad headaches and dizziness (vertigo) return.    I also want to know if the polyps I had in December on my left side (found by X-ray) have gone away or not.

8:30 PM - 2 dill pickles, some cheese (not lowfat, tasted like cottage chz, but not as moist), and 6 oz. of yogurt

Went to bed around 11PM.



Tuesday, April 12th

 7:30 AM - Took 12-hour Sudafed and nasal steroids.   Did a saline nasal rinse.
 8:30 AM - creamsicle  (NOT a healthy breakfast, I know.  I had no time to make an omelet.)
10:30 AM- broccoli with hummus
12:30 PM - Omelette (4 eggs, cheddar chz, cilantro, and 2 slices of turkey sandwich meat)
 1:05 PM - 2 creamsicles
 3:00 PM - fudgesicle

  From 5:30 - 6:30 a friend and I walked (in the cold) to the airport and back!   (I feel the start of blisters perhaps because I haven't worn those shoes in awhile or because I haven't exercised much - probably both!)

 8:00 PM - A friend* graciously brought me dinner, so again I broke my diet.   She brought 4 small square pieces of homemade pizza (crust/bottom, tomato sauce, ground beef, American & Parmesean cheeses, and pepperoni).  It was VERY good and VERY filling.   I should have stopped at the second or third piece, but I over-stuffed myself and ate all four!
 9:00 PM -  Took 12-hour Sudafed and nasal steroids.  
10:00 PM- fudgesicle

In the afternoon, I got really tired and felt a bit dizzy.

*My friend not only brought me dinner, but when I was making the Amish Friendship bread, she did all of my dishes!  Then we talked while the bread was baking, but when I fell asleep in my chair while she was talking a bit after 11PM, I was embarrassed and we decided to fold laundry until the bread was done at 11:30 PM!   Now THAT is a great friend!   :)       I'm so blessed!

Monday, April 11th

 8:00 AM -  Took 12-hour Sudafed and nasal steroids.   Did a saline nasal rinse.
 9:00 AM - cottage cheese
10:30 AM - broccoli with hummus
12:30 AM - Salad (mixed greens, feta chz, almonds) with grilled chicken (Olive oil & vinegar dressing)
No afternoon snack...got busy.
 5:00 PM - Invited to eat with my neighbors, so I broke my diet and had 2 bowls of ptarmigan soup (with potatoes and rice), 1 slice of homemade bread with butter, and 1 Rice Krispy treat (about a 3x4 square, but only about .5 inch thick)
9:00 PM - Took 12-hour Sudafed and nasal steroids
10:00 PM - a handful of salty almonds  (while at school typing on my computer)

Not keeping good track on paper, but.....

So I've not been good at keeping track of what I'm eating, but I've stuck to my diet.    This morning I stepped on the scale and I've lost 5 pounds!!    Yahoo!!!!     I'm so glad I didn't cheat....even when I was tempted when going into Bethel twice!

Tuesday, April 5th

9:40 AM - 3 scrambled eggs with Tandoori Masala seasoning
10:00 AM - orange sugar-free jello
12:30 PM - Salad (iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, feta cheese, grilled chicken, almond slices, and olive oil & vinegar)
1:30 PM - fat free cottage cheese with salt & pepper
2:30 PM - more orange jello
3:45 PM - a fudgesicle & a popsicle
5:30 PM - 2 more popsicles
7:00 PM - more cottage cheese & smoked almonds (salty)
7:20 PM - felt awful and went home to go straight to bed    (Dizzy...bad when bent over twice to get things.   Completely exhausted and weepy.)
8:00  PM- Creamsicle, then read my devotion and tried to sleep*

*Slept off and on all night - kept waking up about every hour to hour and a half

Monday, April 4th

I am just restarting my diet.  I went off of it when I went out of town for a ladies' weekend March 24-27th, but didn't buy any fresh fruits or veggies before heading home.  I thought I could shop the next day, but discovered that my college course work was due THAT Wednesday, rather than the following Wednesday as I'd thought.   So, it was time to cram and buy food at our local store....no diet!    Then the stress of trying to get all my work done...well, it made for a bad week.   I pigged out!   Talk about emotional eating!!!     At least I only gained about 5 pounds. 

Anyway, Monday was a fresh start.   I got up at 6 AM to exercise with a friend.   We did the 2-Mile Walking Workout with Leslie Sansone.   Nothing too exerting, but it was a nice way to start the day and get my blood pumping.   I showered and fixed an omelet with 2 eggs and peppers (red, yellow, and orange).    I didn't write down any of the times or the foods I ate, but I know it was all OK food for the Phase One of the South Beach Diet.    I DID over-do it with probably 4 fudgesicles that day, but hey, a person's gotta have their weaknesses, right?       Overall, it was a good day.
